The Best Time of Year for Events in Bali

Bali is a year-round destination, but not every month treats an outdoor event the same way.

The dry season runs from roughly April to October. Days are sunny, humidity is lower, and evenings are comfortable for outdoor dining. This is peak season for weddings, and the most popular venues are often booked twelve months ahead for July and August. If your heart is set on a specific venue in high season, inquire early.

The rainy season runs from November to March. It rarely rains all day, and showers often pass in an hour, but they arrive with little warning and can be heavy. Outdoor ceremonies are still possible, especially in the morning, but you need a venue with a genuine indoor backup. The upside is real: better availability, more negotiating room on rates, and the island is greener than at any other time of year.

The shoulder months of April, May, September and October are the quiet favourites of planners. The weather is generally kind, flights and villas cost less than in the July peak, and vendors have more room in their calendars.

Two local dates deserve attention. Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence in March, shuts down the entire island for 24 hours including the airport, so no events can take place. Galungan celebrations shift dates each cycle and can affect vendor availability. Your venue or planner will know the exact dates for your year.

For corporate events the calculation is simpler. Meeting rooms and indoor venues work in any season, so rainy season retreats are a smart way to stretch a budget.
